The talented young boy, inspired by Star Wars to try acting, got his first taste of it in his school's production of Oliver Twist when he was Boyd's parents were extremely supportive, driving over two hours to get him to the performances, but sadly they passed away when he was He was thereafter raised by his grandmother. He realized that he enjoyed acting very much and told his school counselor that was what he wanted to be, but the counselor discouraged this choice and told him to "keep it secret". When he was 17 he left school and went to work in a book-binding workshop. He worked there 4 years as an apprentice and 2 years as a workman.

If you can choose a little bit, then even better. I try and read things that are coming up and see what looks interesting. Things morph over the years as you get more and more interested in different things. And still do, I think. I think every actor, or almost every actor, gets typecast a little bit. Although, I did play a few characters who were hard men or killers, because I think some directors and some writers like the idea of getting a hobbit on a killing spree.
Billy Boyd born 28 August  is a Scottish actor and musician. Boyd was born in Glasgow , Scotland , to William and Mary Boyd,  who both died a year apart when Boyd was in his early teens. His breakthrough and most notable acting role was Peregrin "Pippin" Took in The Lord of the Rings trilogy , from to Boyd also wrote and performed the song "The Last Goodbye", which is played during the ending credits of the film.
